Job Summary:

Provides expertise in data management, quality assurance, analysis and reporting. Establishes data accuracy and validity derived from a variety of systems. Performs data analysis using statistical techniques. Researches and analyzes information using multiple databases and creates reports of data and results. Assists in the preparation and delivery of decision support reports to both internal and external customers.

Under the direction of the Director Business Intelligence, the Business Data Analyst role is to ensure the quality and completeness of the intellectual property data across the various life cycles as they are managed in our IP Management system. This position will help identify data quality issues, investigate and research issues identified by others, suggest and implement solutions to correct problems, develop alert reports and monitor processes/programs, and help execute data quality initiatives. This includes implementing data quality improvements and initiatives to enhance data quality, performance levels, and the quality of analytics and reporting. This position analyzes and troubleshoots software problems and provides solutions to overcome those problems. This position will maintain various websites and recommend data-driven solutions to optimize traffic. The Business Data Analyst should have a strong customer focus and attention to detail to update and maintain the data on an ongoing basis. Build visualizations, interactive reports, and conduct analyses via Tableau and advanced Excel functions. This position must be able to think strategically, with a solid grasp of INVO's focuses and objectives, the implications of different solutions, and the identification of the optimal solution given the current software environments constraints.

Specific Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Partners with clients to define requirements based on business objectives.

Administration

  • Develop standardized templates, policies, and procedures for internal and external reporting.
  • Designs and prepares documentation for qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Discuss findings with senior management.

Development

  • Develop queries and quality metrics.
  • Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis.
  • Manages complex databases.

Performance

  • Completes data cleaning and organizes data files for analysis.
  • Reviews data and identifies quality issues.
  • Presents findings in an appropriate manner.

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years data analysis/report writing or similar experience required.

  • Experience using query building tools
  • Experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep
  • Experience using MS Excel functions including the vLookup, IF and INDEX functions, Pivot Tables and Charts
  • Experience creating MS Word and Adobe PDF forms

  • Knowledge of web-based applications and media flash

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in data quality assurance
  • Project management experience

  • Experience in writing or editing structured query language (SQL)
  • Experience with editing HTML and CSS.
  • MS Azure - OpenAI/GenAI tenant development.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $77,000 -$90,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
