Description:

Position Summary

The Research Associate I will assist with various components of work and research in the Great Lakes Center for Farmworker Health and Wellbeing. The person will coordinate and participate in regular meetings of the Center, contribute to outreach and communications planning, and participate in research projects affiliated with the Center. This position is a principal contributor to all aspects of projects from development through delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings for the Center, including weekly internal meetings and meetings with external partners such as the External Advisory Board.
  • Develop and write protocols, training materials, and reports for the Center and related research projects.
  • Participate in research activities such as conducting literature reviews, preparing surveys, collecting data, analyzing data, and presenting research findings.
  • Assist with research dissemination, including maintenance of the Center's website, social media, and general communications.
  • Contribute to evaluation efforts to measure the impact of work in the Center.
  • Assist in identifying future research and funding opportunities.
  • Archive documents and maintain an activity log of the Center's activities for reporting.
  • Perform surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a social science field such as public health, anthropology, sociology, public administration, or other related field.
    • Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • A minimum of 1 year experience in program or research management.
    • A minimum of 1 year of experience in community engagement or outreach.
    • Familiarity with platforms such as Box, Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc for collaborating with team members.
    • Ideal candidate will be able to travel on outreach trips across the state.
    • Bilingual Spanish speaking candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
