You'll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. Together, you and your team will enable our customers to do all the things they love with their devices! As a member of our CAD team, you will architect, develop, maintain and enhance simulation methodology and solutions for our Analog, RF and mixed-signal designs. The role requires you to work with different technology nodes and provide flows/methodologies for the different tool sets. Working in a small CAD team, you will be collaborating with the analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design teams. The role will also involve partnering with layout design, technology, and EDA vendors to drive and coordinate effort on methodology and tools.

Key Qualifications

  • Exposure to circuit simulations with Analog/RFIC design and/or related CAD/automation support areas involving various technology nodes and tape out.
  • Experience with Cadence Custom IC tools - Virtuoso Schematic Editor, Virtuoso Analog Design Environment (ADE-L/XL/Maestro), OCEAN, Viva, Spectre, SpectreRF with knowledge of pre and post-layout DSPF/SPF extraction.
  • Exposure to Spice simulators, including Spectre, Spectre RF, AFS (BDA), Hspice, ADS, GoldenGate, XA, Hsim, and FineSim etc.
  • Know how on solving simulation accuracy, speed and capacity issues. Knowledge of AC, DC, Tran, Harmonic Balance, S-parameters, Periodic noise, PSS simulations with exposure to Matlab is a plus.
  • Efficient programming in Python, Perl, TCL, Cadence SKILL language or Shell scripting. Knowledge in Perforce and/or regressions is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams and external vendors.


Description

We are a small CAD team, so you will have an impact with the analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design teams by: - Solving issues related to transistor level simulations on Analog, RF and Millimeter wave applications with Spice simulators on command-line and Virtuoso environment. - Helping designers in solving tool issues related to ADE, ADE-XL, Maestro and OCEAN and developing/supporting simulation automation flows. - Support and develop in-house CAD flows related to Analog and Mixed-signal simulation

Education & Experience

Minimum requirement of BS + 0 years of relevant industry experience.

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $55.82 and $84.09/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
