The Sr. Director of Digital and Content is a critical part of Tableau Marketing's team. We are looking for a strategic and transformational leader to drive our digital footprint and content strategy focused on maximizing Tableau's unique position in the market while helping potential buyers and existing customers educate themselves on the value of the Tableau portfolio and community. This role connects the dots across all Tableau marketing functions, Tableau product management, and Tableau sales and customer success to ensure we optimize our digital and content strategies to drive qualified pipeline and revenue growth. Job Description:

  • Lead and manage Tableau's extensive digital footprint including and our digital footprint within Salesforce.com.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders across our marketing, community, partner, and customer teams to develop a set of strategies that maximize our various sub-properties aligned to business priorities and investments.
  • Establish the measurement framework we will use to track performance including how our digital footprint is driving demand through our three main conversion points: Buy Tableau, Try Tableau, Talk with Sales and how that demand translates to qualified pipeline and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with product marketing to ensure we are effectively representing the value and differentiation of the Tableau portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Tableau field marketing team on the effectiveness of our current paid media efforts in terms of engagement and demand generation as measured by qualified pipeline and revenue.
  • Drive Tableau's owned media strategy leveraging content, digital, and social distribution to drive growth.
  • Lead our SEO initiatives focused on maximizing SEO investment as measured by qualified pipeline and revenue growth.
  • Manage our organic social media footprint by producing and optimizing the relevant content required to leverage social more effectively.
  • Develop the necessary content and distribution strategies (ex: webinars, blog) to maximize awareness and education of the Tableau portfolio.
  • Work closely with Tableau product management to optimize our Buy Tableau and Try Tableau self-service experience by leveraging key insights from onsite buyer behavior and conversion data.
  • Build, lead, and manage a best-in-class digital and content team consisting of an optimal mix of Tableau employees, contractors, and agencies based on strategic priorities, capacity, and budget.
  • Be able to build and communicate an annual strategy aligned to business objectives, metrics, and budget broken down into quarterly priorities, reported out monthly in terms of the team performance and pacing against the quarterly and annual objectives.


Required Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years of emonstrated experience leading and growing a digital and content footprint for an organization of comparable size to Tableau.
  • Strategic thinking to identify and understand the short and long-term goals of the organization and how to achieve those goals through leveraging our digital footprint and existing and new content.
  • Innovation and creativity: ability to conceptualize and effectively communicate ideas, to improve and chart the next chapter of storytelling.
  • Success in high-growth environments: experience creating, executing, and leading global communications in agile, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to disseminate information across the organization including executive level communication skills.
  • Demonstration of strong leadership skills to manage a team and establish priorities to deliver against short and long-term goals.
  • Beginner's mind to identify new and innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Persuasively present meaningful data to top decision-makers in concise executive presentations.
  • Data analysis to interpret large and disparate data sets, draw conclusions from them and execute on insights.
  • Ability to drive excellence in an ambiguous, frequently changing environment.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $192,800 to $294,100.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
