About This Position

This person must live in the Milwaukee, WI area

This is an on-site position

The Regional Dietician will be supporting both Milwaukee County (60%) along with the Midwest Region (40%). Responsible for approving contract menus, providing standard and non-standard medical diet plans, and interfacing with client/client medical departments within assigned county and region. Provides field support and training to operations, helping to manage types and numbers of diets. Supports Trinity Services Group (TSG) operational and sales team members, working closely with clients, staff and co-workers throughout TSG.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Review and approve menus and menus cycles developed by the Menu Development Office (MDO) to ensure contract specifications are met.
  • Ensure updated nutritional analysis of county and region menus is available.
  • Provide nutritional and diet reports to county and region facilities for audit purposes.
  • Develop diet menus for non-formulary orders.
  • Assists the Menu Development Director (MDD) in the development and monitoring of secondary menus, e.g., Religious, Contingency, Standard and Bid specific menus etc., as well as overall dietary standards and nutritional goals.
  • Assist MDD with periodic updates of Diet Manual.
  • Ensures all regional menus are reviewed annually or per contract, through MDO.
  • Ensures all regional facilities comply with specified regulatory agencies ( ACA, JCAHO, NCCHC, ICE, BOP, etc.)
  • Actively participates in Audit readiness plans, through reviews of facilities, providing Plans of Action upon completion.
  • Regularly reviews Facility diet rosters/lists for excessive diet orders, both medical and religious.
  • Communicates with Client Liason/Facility Medical Department to assist with diet concerns and make recommendations to control numbers and types of diets.
  • Completes TSG Dietitian Audit, reviewing diet practices, client concerns, excessive diets, etc.
  • Consults with and maintains open relationship with Client Medical Providers.
  • Review production records as needed for accuracy of diet menu items.
  • Review documentation of diet compliance tracking records; ensure non-compliance is communicated to medical or Chaplain for counseling/discontinuation of diet.
  • Schedule, present and implement employee training for diet/religious diet cooks.
  • Monitor that corrective actions are implemented.
  • Assist in reviewing new products and vendors for nutritional impact/acceptability.
  • Generate diet reports for RVP and MDD.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Nutrition or Dietetics; Registered Dietitian through The Commission on Dietetic Registration; membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist, or license eligible for the specific states of responsibility, as required.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in clinical dietetics; experience in food service administration is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic work area operations and procedures (correctional facility kitchen and provision of correctional medical and religious diets)
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgement.
  • Ability to learn CBORD production system.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively through both oral and written forms.
  • Utilize standard Microsoft Office products and Outlook at an effective level.
  • Demonstrate a high level of organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties and requests from the field.
