Position Summary
The Senior Employee Relations Representative is responsible for investigating and resolving employee relations that are moderate to complex complaints and conflicts in the workplace. You will work with our HR Business Partners and Managers to administer the Corrective Action Process, investigations and other ER cases. This role serves as an advisor to managers and senior management regarding policies and procedures related to the management of their team. You will be responsible for the management of select ER programs.


Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Assist managers and employees with resolution of employee behavior and performance issues, career counseling and management coaching; conduct internal investigations into allegations of employee misconduct
  • May assist others in the prioritization of employee-related issues and plans for ongoing employee relations improvements
  • Evaluate and analyze situations or data that require knowledge of company process, policies, and business needs
  • Facilitate ongoing performance management process on complex cases
  • Manage moderately complex ER cases to resolution independently and in collaboration with peers, ER management and legal counsel
  • Provide feedback and guidance to business management regarding employee relations best practices, ensure fair treatment of employees, review and contribute to development of policies and programs upon request
  • Regularly interact with management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions or geographies
  • Influence and gain buy-in from managers in sensitive situations, while building the relationship
  • Collaborate and share subject matter expertise to ER team of geographically distributed employees
  • Manage and help to coordinate large scale staffing initiatives and restructuring
  • Participate in program development and facilitate training on Performance Management
  • Appropriately identify and coordinate cases with legal counsel as necessary, modifying case responses and/or ensuring stakeholders are advised of recommendations to achieve business objectives while minimizing risk.
  • Participate in the development of and manage specific programs within ER, i.e. Accommodations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Experienced professional position.
  • Works under limited supervision and problems are moderately complex.
  • Responsible for providing coaching, guidance, and training to others in job area.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years; or a PhD without experience.
