Position Description:

In the role of a Grants Operations Coordinator you will be working in our Cancer Center.

All remote work must be performed within one of the MCW registered payroll states, which currently includes: WI, AZ, FL, IL, IN, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, TN,TX, and UT.

Purpose

Coordinates the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation of clinical trial contracts and protocol amendments. Interacts with CTO managers, investigators, pharmaceutical representatives, MCW grant office analysts, third party vendor and other institutional partners to ensure that clinical protocols are processed within service standard timelines and in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements.

Primary Functions

  • Serve as the CTO point of contact for a specified book of business within the Cancer Center CTO with the GCO
  • Interpret and articulate both institutional and sponsor policies and relevant procedures to ensure compliance. Proactively keep department apprised of changes in policies and regulations of relevant granting agencies. Work with departments and central administrative offices to achieve compliance. Not sure this one applies..
  • Review clinical protocols and Clinical Trial Agreements for redline changes, and prepare a detailed study budget for new studies, and/or study amendments. Prepare same for submission to sponsor, for budget and contract negotiation, route through GCO for activation.
  • Serve as the Cancer Center CTO business office point of contact and liaison for sponsoring agencies for the specified book of business. .
  • Assist in the preparation of final Clinical Trial agreements, and sponsor negotiated budget, for final submission in eBridge, initiating pre-award requests.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of any externally funded clinical trials, and escalate any budget or contract negotiations to CC leadership or the PI for resolution.
  • Assist in testing and implementation of OnCore Financials (preaward activities)
  • Partner with other MCW Cancer Center finance/CTO team participate in team-based projects, as assigned.
  • Coordinates the grant process from development and submission to the post-award stage.
  • Ensures compliance with sponsor terms, MCW policies/procedures, and federal regulations.
  • May consolidate sources of information to ensure application document requirements are complete.

Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.

Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Minimum Required Experience: 4 years

Preferred Experience: Clinical trial budget and contract development
