As aTechnical Assistant(2nd or 3rd Shift)in the Automotive Parts and Accessories (APA) organization, you will report to the Color Development Manager. You will contribute to the profit goals of the APA Decorative market segment by assisting in the development and testing of new coatings that reflect quality and meet customer requirements. You will support product development by preparing laboratory quantities of paint, applying coatings to appropriate substrate and performing testing. You will also work with plant production personnel and Quality Assurance personnel to assist with problem resolution as it pertains to formulas.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all PPG safety protocols and encourage a broad safety culture in a laboratory work environment.
- Positively contribute in a team environment, collaborates with team members, and supports team engagement projects.
- Communicate results and observations to direct supervisor.
- Maintain an accurate, neat notebook. Document all observations, including unusual results.
- Demonstrate and guide through accomplishing tasks on mutually agreed upon dates and goals. Accepts and uses feedback.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Completed Chemistry and Algebra courses.
- Experience in a Technical or Quality Control lab environment.
