Great opportunity for an experienced engineer to join the corona treating leader in North America. You'll be trained on surface treating applications in the converting and film extrusion industry and use this knowledge along with your analytical & creative skills, to configure engineer to order designs that meet performance and cost requirements. Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a technical resource for the sales team by answering technical questions and providing technical insight on Enercon's products.
  • Interacts with customers and the sales team to determine the correct equipment and specifications for custom designed and standard product offerings.
  • Accurately captures, learns, and applies knowledge of complex, highly configured, or engineered to order equipment or products.
  • Utilizes critical thinking to aid in solid decision making and creative thinking to find solutions to unique problems.
  • Clearly and concisely communicates in verbal and written form to inform the organization on activity status and with demonstrated ability to perform effective change management is required.
  • Provides custom equipment costing based on customer specifications and design requirements.
  • Understands the application and field utilization of Enercon equipment to allow correct equipment configuration and consults with the Lab and Application Validation Engineering team when difficult or non-standard applications arise.
  • Creates and reviews technical drawings for customer approval on custom equipment designs.
  • Analyzes predicted custom costing versus actual costs for equipment orders to improve the accuracy of the costing process.
  • Works with the service parts team on costing for custom after-market service parts.
  • Reviews custom equipment quotations for technical accuracy.
  • Reviews custom equipment orders for accuracy and readiness for design engineering and order processing.
  • Along with sales and other engineering teams, compiles standard equipment price lists.
  • Cooperates with the IT and Engineering Systems and Standards teams on equipment configuration tools to ensure that they are functional and accurate.
  • Uses knowledge of market, customers, and competition to help drive product improvement and suggest future development projects. As a member of the engineering team, act as a team member in improvement initiatives with products, processes, or business systems.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Associate's degree in a related technical field plus a combination of highly relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of prior work experience in a technical field with previous experience in sales and application engineering preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills along with the ability to find solutions without compromising customer or company objectives is required.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and trade shows, or approximately 5%-10% travel.
  • Ability read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite application is required.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD for design activities is desirable (SolidWorks, DraftSight/AutoCAD preferred).
  • Prior experience in CRM and ERP systems required (Salesforce and Epicor experience preferred).
