ATI is currently looking for a Heat Treat Operator within our manufacturing facility in Cudahy, WI. As a Heat Treat Operator, you will be an integral part of a successful team that is responsible for producing machined in military, aerospace, oil/gas and other applications.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing the required heating and cooling operations necessary to impact physical properties in forgings to conform to our customer specifications and meet product performance goals and objectives.

This is a third shift position from 11:00pm - 7:00am. Your work week will start at 11pm Monday and wrap up at 7am Saturday.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares furnace loads in accordance with detailed furnace load map
  • Prepares and assembles load thermocouple
  • Loads forgings into heat treat furnace and removes from furnace after required heating using a combination of manipulators and forklifts
  • Moves completed furnace load to appropriate cooling station
  • Sets furnace temperature controls to suit type of material and process.
  • Monitors furnace operation and performance as required
  • Processes forgings through quench and cool operations
  • Works from specifications, chart, detailed work instructions, etc.
  • Generates/updates required reports to document process parameters
  • Operates Brinell/Rockwell hardness testing equipment determining the hardness of forgings after heat treatment
  • Creates move tickets after heat treatment processing is complete

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Experience with AMS 2750 pyrometry standard
  • Experience with hardness testing

Skills

  • Knowledge of heat treating practices and procedures
  • Knowledge/use of industrial heavy equipment
  • Familiar with industrial furnaces and components
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long term solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
