Position Overview

Green Bay Packaging Inc. is a privately owned, diversified paper and packaging manufacturer. Founded in 1933, this Green Bay WI based company has over 4,200 employees and 32 manufacturing locations operating in 15 states. Green Bay Packaging serves the corrugated container, folding carton and coated label markets. The Wisconsin Sheet Plants Division currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager.

This position will be responsible for the continued personnel development and sales strategy of the GBP - WI Sheet Plant sales organization including direct leadership responsibility for Territory Managers. This position will manage sales staff consistent with company policies and division goals under the direction of the Director of Sales. This position will also be responsible for working collaboratively with operations, customer service, pricing, and business development teams.

Responsibilities

Managerial Functions

    • Manages daily functions of Territory Managers.
    • Sets goals and objectives consistent with division strategy and goals.
    • Reviews and coaches Territory Managers on consistent basis to achieve set goals and support employee development.
    • Set and drive the standards for performance and hold Territory Managers accountable to the standard and quantify results.
    • Travel with all Territory Managers at least one day per month to help develop business and help to assist in coaching Territory Manager to help him or her grow in identified competencies.
    • Develop sales strategies for division in coordination with business development, administrative, and operations teams.
    • Guide pricing strategy in combination with Director of Sales and Vice President/General Manager.
    • Manage and support and market price adjustments.
    • Track and manage customer contracts within division.
    • Organize and conduct quarterly sales meetings.
    • Recruit and develop new sales talent.
    • Set goals and drive results on business growth and profitability.

Direct Sales / Other Functions

    • Manage house accounts as assigned.
    • Grow sales volume including meeting financial goals to improve sales and sell price, mix, profitability.
    • Lead and participate in meetings to strategize plans to better meet customers' needs.
    • Orchestrate company resources and facilitate multi-level and cross-business efforts.
    • Complete necessary paperwork/computer work as necessary associated with sale of product to support customers' needs.
    • Entertainment of customers during and after normal work hours.
Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required. Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • 5-7 years sales and/or sales management experience.
  • Focus on Safety and support of driving safety practice and processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent organization skills..
  • Ability to motivate and coach employees.
  • Possess the ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners.
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required of this position.
  • Knowledge of our product and processes.
  • Prior sales and management experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc. Proficient in or ability to learn corrugated mainframe systems
