Your role and responsibilities

Execute assigned orders to ensure a high degree of accuracy and on time delivery of engineering drawings and documentation. Manage workload to provide quick turn around on revise and resubmit requests
Review orders and interpret customer and sales specifications and translate into instructions for manufacture
Create and support technical documentation for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies. standards and procedures
Configure and manage BOMs, technical specifications sheets and engineering drawings. Suggest design optimization concepts to increase order margin
Provide technical support across the whole order lifespan (quoting, engineering/design, manufacturing, post shipment stages) as required
Share appropriate engineering information through open dialogue with other functions in factory and abroad
Respond to factory floor requests with a high sense of urgency by meeting with production team on factory floor, driving technical solutions, generating updated drawings and/or bill of materials, etc.
Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences
Complete on a timely basis all data entry including labor vouchering, required job milestone dates (drawing submittal, BOM release, etc.)
Contribute to lessons learned by capturing mistakes and communicating to responsible parties to drive continuous improvement
Embrace Engineering tools to drive efficiency and accuracy by providing feedback and contributing to testing of new tool features
Collaborate with upper leadership to create engineering documentation, standards and best practices
Interacts with customers, officials, contractors and others
Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments
Perform other local tasks as required

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university & 5 years relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics, & technical specifications
  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a team
  • Ability to welcome change and work in fast paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Project management skills with ability to plan, execute & document programs / projects
  • Selfstarter, ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to support offshift manufacturing teams
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
