Position Title: Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: 18.50/HR
Schedule: Monday - Friday

Job Description:
General Summary
Prepare, expedite and dispatch materials for shipment. Receive and check raw materials, purchased stock, finished items, equipment, supplies and returned goods for shipping. Operate required equipment, including company truck, and assist in other ways as needed. Work independently. May provide direction to others in department. Verify and maintain quality of work. Train and assist other shipping and receiving employees as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare order for shipping -- close cartons, palletize, stretch wrap, attach shipping instructions, match and move tickets to orders, enter order into computer.
2. Dispatch shipment by contacting carrier to arrange pickup.
3. Prepare bills of lading and other documentation.
4. Load and unload trucks.
5. Process returns to vendors; i.e., verify DMR counts, make transportation arrangements.
6. For shipments outside USA, prepare special documents and attach proper security endorsements.
7. Operate straight truck to pick up and deliver materials as well as maintain truck in a clean, safe and sound operating condition.
8. Perform Syteline move transactions.
9. Perform other duties and support any or all departments as assigned.
10. Verify and maintain the quality of work through visual inspection and work instructions. Notify supervisor or lead of any nonconformity, and document as required.
11. Maintain a safe and clean work area complying with safety and housekeeping procedures.
12. Follow ISO procedures and participate in continuous improvement.
13. Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude; i.e., be a team player, respectful, cooperative, trustworthy, and willing to help and take ownership to solve problems.

Requirements of Knowledge, Skill and Ability
1. Read, write, comprehend and follow instructions in order to perform the duties described above.
2. Basic arithmetic required for charting and calculating order quantities.
3. Able to stand and/or walk 85-100% of the day.
4. Certified forklift operator (standing and sitting).
5. Computer skills to complete complicated receiving transactions, as well as enter data; computer experience to include ERP/DRP systems (i.e. Syteline.)
6. Operate packaging equipment and provide instruction on how to operate.
7. Good understanding of bills of materials, proof of deliveries, and assembly drawings.
8. A high degree of manual dexterity.
9. Able to lift moderate weights and generally be physically fit to perform the duties described above.
HS Diploma or GED required.
