Charter Steelis seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technicianto join our growing team on theNight Shift!We are offering a$5,000 hiring bonus*for this role!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment, including: hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, overhead traveling cranes, gearboxes, rolls, and power transmissions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspection, calibration, installation on equipment.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose and repair issues.
  • Communicate with team members and adhere to quality, safety, and documentation guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two plus years' industrial maintenance experience or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of, experience in: machining, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, plumbing, power transmission, gearing, conveyors, fans, overhead cranes.
  • Experience and proficient use of maintenance equipment and tools including metal working, drill presses, saws, and grinders.
  • Demonstrated industry standard rigging and lifting procedures.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, pendant and overhead traveling cranes, and aerial lift platforms in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring tools including, but not limited to, micrometers and calipers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working behaviors including lockout, fall protection, confined space, and mobile equipment operation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship, Journeyman Certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Welding experience (SMAW, MIG and/or TIG).
  • Fabrication experience.
  • Steel industry experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical drives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Near constant standing with frequent walking and occasional sitting.
  • Occasional below waist level work, climbing, balancing, carrying, reaching over 15" away from the body, reaching above shoulder, fine motor skills, use of forceful motion, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Minimal foot use, push/pull, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation,as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.
