Job Description

Regency Senior Communities is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Life Enrichment Services. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Life Enrichment Services will be an integral part of Regency's Senior Leader Team and will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of Life Enrichment programming across all Regency campuses.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Life Enrichment Program Development:

    • Develop and manage a comprehensive Life Enrichment program aligned with industry best practices to meet the diverse needs of residents.
    • Conduct ongoing assessment, analysis, and research to ensure program effectiveness and measurable outcomes.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices through education and partnerships with relevant organizations.
    • Create monthly and annual Life Enrichment calendars, including community integration programs and religious services coordination.
    • Establishes community integration programs with the Transportation Manager.
    • Develops partnerships with religious groups for on-site services.
    • Supports resident-run programs and ensures compliance.
    • Plans and promotes various community activities and entertainment.
    • Coordinates on-site voter registration and voting.
    • Manages the operation of the Country Store and collaborates on dining events and outreach initiatives.
  2. Personnel and Volunteer Management:

    • Provides strategic oversight and sets standards for Life Enrichment staff including fitness personnel, assistants and coordinators.
    • Gives feedback to Campus Administrators and manages personnel performance.
    • Recruits, assigns and delegates duties, responsibilities and authority to volunteers. Coordinates and oversees paid and volunteer ministers for spiritual services.
    • Develops orientation and training programs for Life Enrichment personnel and volunteers.
  3. Administration:

    • Implement program participation tracking and data collection for analysis and reporting.
    • Coordinate the production of Regency's blog and participate in organizational meetings and events.
    • Manage the annual Life Enrichment budget, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, overseeing expenditures, and conducting financial reporting.
    • Attends resident council, advisory, and community meetings to update and gather feedback on Life Enrichment programming.
    • Implements and oversees Life Enrichment Policies and Procedures.
    • Maintains confidentiality of residents and staff within the guidelines of established resident rights and prescribed by labor and HIPAA laws
    • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Geriatrics, Art/Music Therapy, or related field and/or comparable certification with experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in staff management and program development.
  • 3+ years of direct experience in recreational programming, preferably with seniors.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comfortable assigning and/or performing tasks, jobs, and/or projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Must pass required pre-employment tests and screenings.
  • Possess valid and current licensure and/or certifications.
  • Possess valid and current driver's licensure and insurance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, tactful, mature, flexible, and possess the ability to get along with diverse personalities.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Demonstrated motor coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform physical tasks associated with recreational activities.
  • Clear verbal communication skills required to effectively communicate service options to residents, family members, vendors and visitors with diverse comprehension levels.
  • Strong reasoning, problem-solving, and sound judgment skills.
  • Genuine interest in serving the needs of the elderly population with patience and tact.
