Under the general direction of the Department Chair, Chief Administrative Office (CAO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other Anesthesiology Department leaders and in concert with other research administrative staff, bear primary responsibility of all pre-award administration for intra/extramurally funded research awards for Departmental Principal Investigators (PIs).


Salary Range: $78800.00 - $175000.00 Annually
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma.
  • 8+ years of extensive research administration experience.
  • 1-3 years of complex research administration portfolio.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, external collaborators, and administration.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Advanced ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet programmatic and financial needs.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced, fluctuating workload environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel.
  • Experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, and cooperative agreements.
  • Ability to interpret policy for others.
  • Advanced knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques
  • Full knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Code of Federal Regulations, sponsor specific policies, intellectual property policy, conflict of interest requirements, publication rights, application of indirect cost rates and other complex concepts in research administration.
  • Experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, and cooperative agreements.
  • Ability to perform highly complex financial analysis and customized reporting.


Preferred:

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively.
  • Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize job functions, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with multiple proposal submission systems.
  • Experience preparing, managing, and projecting budgets.
  • Mathematical skills for the preparation of complex calculations and forecasts and to identify and resolve complicated financial scenarios.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors, federal and state sponsors, private foundations, industry sponsors, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of various research administration policies and procedures, and contract and grant funding agency guidelines.
