Purpose:
Senior Principal Software Development Engineer, in this role, you will support service engineers and develop and maintain software for Formfactor Probe Systems. For our service team in the assigned time zone, you are the first contact person for questions about our machine software. Difficult and complex questions about the machine software must be answered. Work closely with other application engineers, marketing personnel to guide and refine software product requirements. Additionally, you will develop Applications, Algorithms, user interfaces and user-friendly workflows for Formfactor Probe stations used in the semiconductor industry. In some cases, work directly with customers to develop special solutions to customer requirements. The development of software will be done with the waterfall as well with the rapid prototyping processes. Write, integrate and informally test of software are typically tasks. Working at a computer and on the machine for extended periods of time is expected as well as some international travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Service support.
  • Support software development for all phases of the product lifecycle including requirements development, design (architectural and low level) code, and integration.
  • Algorithm and workflow and user interfaces
    • Used C,C++,C# in Windows
  • Documentation work
  • Provide Technical Training for Formfactor personnel.
  • Software maintenance and support
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor or Master degree of Science in Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, and Minimum 3 years industry experience
  • Work experience developing software applications for machines and equipment.
  • Expertise in developing software in C, C++ , C# is required.
  • Wafer level testing and/or general electronic test instrumentation experience is a plus.
  • Physics background especially in optics/ pattern recognition/ photometry strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of network communications and robot applications in semiconductor industry preferable
  • Skill with MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office tools required.
  • Good team and interpersonal skills
Beaverton, OR is between $115,800 and $152,000. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
