Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager of Quality, the Senior Quality Improvement Specialist works directly with organizational leaders and multi-disciplinary teams to support quality projects. The senior specialist will assist co-workers in the application of quality management concepts and tools and serve as a subject matter expert in quality management. The Sr. Quality Improvement Specialist will also serve the role of the facility Infection Preventionist and have the responsibility to implement, review and support the facility infection prevention plan.

The senior specialist will develop work plans or project plans for quality improvement projects and infection prevention strategies. They will work collaboratively with leadership, co-workers and medical staff to develop, implement, monitor and champion processes related to quality issues and key infection prevention strategies. In addition, the senior specialist will work directly with organizational leaders and multi-disciplinary teams to identify resources needed to support quality improvement projects and infection prevention strategies. They will make recommendations for change in practice to improve quality outcomes and lead discussions with organization leaders, physicians, process improvement teams, and co-workers to initiate change.

Quality Assurance department consists of the following areas (not an all-inclusive list)

  • Quality Assurance and monitoring
  • Quality/ Performance Improvement & Lean processes
  • Patient Safety
  • Infection Prevention
  • Regulatory and Survey Readiness

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field; an Associate degree with commensurate experience in a healthcare related field in addition to the required experience, in lieu of the Bachelor's degree is acceptable.

Licensure: None.

Experience: 5+ years in clinical healthcare related experience.

Certification/Registration: Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within 3 years, if applicable for job responsibilities.
