Shikun & Binui is a member of the Joint Venture (ASN Constructors) comprised of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who will work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. The Bridges Manager, Subcontracts is responsible for ensuring the timely and costly completion of 12 subcontracted Bridge Structures by overseeing all phases of the construction. Specifically, the Bridge Manager, Subcontracted is responsible for leading and managing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the subcontracted Bridge Structures portion of construction of the Project. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role is responsible for managing the budget and schedule from tender, coordinating/planning the work with subcontractors and the self-perform activities, instituting safe industry practices, directing and leading the implementation of the Bridge Structures work according to the approved design and specifications.

  • Manage planning and construction engineering required to complete construction elements.
  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables.
  • Manage subcontractors required to complete subcontracted portions of the Bridge Structures.
  • Ensure necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites are satisfied and in place.
  • Manage subcontractor costs.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team in respect of supply of materials and subcontractor selections.
  • Manage construction schedule and activities.
  • Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines.
  • Ensure work carried out in compliance with the Project Agreement.
  • Ensure that subcontractor and supplier relationships are maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education:

A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar technical engineering degree is preferred.

Degrees in Construction Management or a Civil Engineering Degree with a certificate in Construction Management would also be acceptable.

Experience:

10+ years in a Civil Engineering leadership role

Experience in managing work on P3 Projects (Public Private Partnerships) or Projects with a value of $100M USD or greater is highly valued.

Preferred experience in Heavy-Highway or Heavy-Civil Construction.

Skills:

Possess confidence and ability to execute without significant oversight, but having an equal willingness and sense to seek input from supervisors, peers, and company experts when needed

Demonstrated ability to build and manage a diverse, cohesive and effective team; ability to manage different disciplines and functions within the group

Delegate and monitor work and provide constructive feedback

Proficient in data analysis, risk management, team building, and staff development.

Strong leadership and communication skills are crucial, given the responsibilities of team building and stakeholder communication involved in the role.
