What You'll Do:

Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently.

Work With Large Equipment. Follow established work procedures for line boring, and repairing/maintaining heavy equipment.

Plan Machining. Plan machining by work orders, blue prints, engineering plans, materials, or other specifications. Prepare work sketches and design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet needs.

Perform Portable Line boring Operation. Build up and machine holes. Responsible for the application and care of all standard shop measuring (inside and outside micrometers) and hand tools. Work independently to complete responsibilities. Proficient at setup and operation of mobile line boring rig. Other duties as assigned (other heavy equipment repairs). Properly cares for and safely uses hand and power tools and all company property. Assists in determining repairs and required to bring equipment to rebuilt status.

Ensure Efficiency. Visually observe and listen to operating machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and ensure operational efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. Welding (smaw, gmaw), arc gouging, and portable line boring experience.

Functional Knowledge. Must have a working knowledge of mine operations equipment. Must be able to machine parts to dimensional specifications from blueprints and hand drawings.

Interpersonal Skills. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate an attention to detail and good judgment.

Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Must be able to travel, driving a company service truck, overnight stays (up to 75% of the time)
