Huntsman is seeking a Maintenance Technician supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Ringwood, IL. This position will report to the Reliability Manager.

As the Maintenance Technician you will:

  • Perform work comfortably as part or team or solo.
  • Trouble shoots mechanical and electrical issues with machinery or equipment: identify reason for malfunction and completes repairs and/or maintenance.
  • Performs mechanical duties as need - such as initial repair troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Test and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies: promote continuance improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Builds and/or Modifies equipment in accordance to established specification to meet specific project requirements.
  • Play an active part of continuous improvement of workplace safety, environmental practices, and equipment.
  • Participates in development and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance program and associated documentation.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of experience which is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.

Working conditions and physical effort:

  • Successful candidate must complete post offer requirements: Pre-employment Physical, Drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE required for specific tasks.
  • Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
  • Considerable physical activity: Including heavy physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 60 pounds, and/or working in elevated locations in excess of 35 feet.
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations which require following extensive safety precautions and includes the use of personal protective equipment based on task requirements.
  • Work is done in a 7-day shift system, with on-call schedule. (When on-call you must arrive to the plant within one hour of call out).
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Forklift certification
  • Must have four years' experience or training; or equivalent experience in maintenance work.
