We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join the leadership team at our WAVE Aberdeen, Maryland and WAVE Belcamp, Maryland locations. This is an onsite position supporting our 200+ employee manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the Sr. Regional Corporate HR Manager, the Human Resources Business Partner will plan, lead, direct, develop, recommend, implement, and coordinate human resource activities, policies, procedures, and programs for the assigned manufacturing facilities, while assisting upper management to ensure legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission. The incumbent participates as an active and involved partner in the development and execution of organizational business plans and strategies. The HR Business Partner acts as the primary point of service contact for the leadership group and employees on interpreting human resource policies, procedures, and practices. The ideal candidate is a team player, organized, analytical, problem-solver with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to ensure that daily HR operations are running effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning the employee lifecycle by developing and/or supporting and implementing local or corporate Human Resource strategies and techniques that provide support to Plant mission, critical issues and goals.
  • Monitors and participates in hiring practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Develops innovative activities to attract and retain a diverse pool of high-quality talent with the attributes to advance the needs of the business.
  • Manages the onboarding program and integrates new employees into the organization in ways that maximize their ability to perform and succeed.
  • Handles employee relations concerns including but not limited to, Performance Management, status changes, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and Workers Compensation.
  • Provides oversight and direction to employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, and LOA.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve HR efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Manages employee performance review program and communicates expectations to company. Provides support to management as needed.
  • Works in tandem with Total Rewards group to administer employee benefits, including communicating benefits information to employees, and supporting the wellness programming through action.
  • Organizes, processes and maintains all employment and payroll records in compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Operation and use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. This is an onsite position, sitting at our Aberdeen facility.
  • Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
  • Outstanding time management skills, oral and written communication

Things considered a plus:

  • Experience in manufacturing environment is highly preferred
  • HR certification preferred - PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP
  • Experience in facilitation, human relation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with coaching, consulting, team development, and program development in a multi-cultural environment.
