About Vantage Data Centers

Vantage is committed to being a workplace of inclusion, equity, respect and acceptance. We celebrate diversity and intentionally seek out opportunities to learn from one another's experience.

Vantage Data Centers powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world's well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands.

Internal Audit

The Internal Audit (IA) department focuses on building business partnerships while delivering independent, objective assurance and advisory services. Vantage's high-growth global environment demands nimbleness and efficiency, and every role in the small but mighty IA department is very hands-on. A distinguishing feature of IA at Vantage is the opportunity to immediately impact both the business and the department positively. In addition to audit work, our department also facilitates the Company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Commercial Risk Management (CRM) programs.

Position Overview

Vantage is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, hands-on Internal Audit Manager. Your role will focus on five key categories of work: Firstly, you'll plan and execute mostly IT-related audits of our Technology & Systems and Cybersecurity groups. You'll also occasionally be involved in financial, operational, and compliance audits, but leading our IT audit practice will be your bread and butter. Secondly, you'll communicate audit results in a way that builds trust and partnership with the business while driving change. Genuine partnerships are the reason our function succeeds. Thirdly, you'll invest in mentoring and supervising junior staff members, including co-sourced resources. We believe in developing future talent and succeeding as a team. Fourthly, you'll actively participate in departmental administration, including completing the annual planning cycle, performing risk assessments, and reporting results to executive and board-level audiences.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform all aspects of audit projects, including identifying and researching relevant background topics, documenting key risks and controls, developing and executing test plans, and writing compelling audit reports and findings. The complete project life cycle from planning to wrap-up will be yours to undertake.

  • Conduct effective meetings with business leaders, including top-level executives

  • Learn the business and build partnerships through your work, always striving toward the best solutions for Vantage

  • Partner with department leadership and peers to evolve an effective, efficient, and agile department methodology

  • Self-manage against audit timelines and schedules, and report on progress and roadblocks

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology (IT), computer science, accounting, or equivalent experience in IT auditing required

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) a plus

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience required; public accounting experience preferred

  • Real estate, construction, or data center experience is preferred but not required

  • Skill in the art of partnership and negotiation is required; ability to be persuasive, influential, and firm without being overbearing

  • First-rate communication skills required, both written and oral

  • A preference for fast-moving, uncertain, and complex work environments is key

  • A track record of successfully working in a multi-national environment preferred, including working with colleagues in substantially differing time zones

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required; above-average proficiency with Word and Visio preferred

  • Previous experience with Yardi (accounting) or AuditBoard (GRC platform) preferred

  • Required domestic and international travel is expected to be 5 to 20% with varying frequency. Travel may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $155,000 Base + Bonus (This is based on Colorado market)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.

We operate with No Ego and No Arrogance. We work to build each other up and support one another, appreciating each other's strengths and respecting each other's weaknesses. We find joy in our work and each other, actively seeking opportunities to inject fun into what we do. Our hard and efficient work is rewarded with an above market total compensation package. We offer a comprehensive suite of health and welfare, retirement, and paid leave benefits exceeding local expectations.

Throughout the year, the advantage of being part of the Vantage team is evident with an array of benefits, recognition, training and development, and the knowledge that your contribution adds value to the company and our community.

Don't meet all the requirements? Please still apply if you think you are the right person for the position. We are always keen to speak to people who connect with our mission and values.
