Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Director of FP&A, Enterprise Analytics. In this role, you will be responsible for driving data-driven insights, developing advanced financial models, and delivering strategic analysis to support decision making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FP&A and extensive experience in insurance and investments industries.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present accurate and insightful financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders to support decision making at the executive level.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive preparation and validation of the monthly financial forecast (Pulse), as well as a key contributor to the annual Business Plan and Mid-Year Forecast processes.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to evaluate potential risks and opportunities, enabling proactive decision-making and effective resource allocation.
  • Present complex financial and analytical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the financial reporting and insights processes for the Board of Trustee meetings and updates (e.g., Board Briefing Book, Board Flash, Presentations).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify, synthesize, and communicate key financial and business insights at an executive level.
  • Identify analytics that improve the quality and effectiveness of the reporting and forecasting processes.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Has significant accountability and interaction with finance/risk senior leadership including the EVP of Finance, Controller, and Chief Actuary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or other business required
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in positions with increasing financial management responsibilities
  • Exceptional people leadership capabilities to create an engaging work environment
  • Intellectual agility, analytical and problem-solving abilities and well-developed presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop rapport and maintain effective relationships throughout the Company and influence decision making without authority
  • Strong business acumen with an ability to understand and synthesize company-wide results.
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles and lead through change.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$110,040.00

Pay Range - End:

$204,360.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
