Job Description

Sr Warehouse Supervisor

Directs the development and implementation of activities in the Warehouse Operations working closely with the production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes the Warehouse Activities requirements driven by production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and policies to manage the Warehouse Objectives and Personnel. Leads the supervision and various support staff residing within the direct/indirect labor function. Develops schedules and personnel requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Helps to develop strategic plans that supplement and enable senior leadership's plant and business goals.
  • Implements world-class systems and tools in warehouse operations, production planning, inventory control, materials management, warehouse management, and material distribution.
  • Directs the development and implementation of activities to meet productivity goals, quality, and cost objectives
  • Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at high levels, controls capital expenditures for indirect labor.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Develop goals/targets for all direct reports and regularly provide feedback on progress towards those goals.
  • Drives policy deployment for area including KPI charts, action plans and countermeasures. Coordinate operations and maintenance support for the warehouse.
  • Ensures that production and inventory control practices are consistent with other facilities to the extent possible.
  • Leads and conduct physical inventory of all Rockwell inventories on an annual basis.
  • Manages cycle count / inventory accuracy programs. Provide analysis of root cause of errors and initiate corrective action.
  • Coordinates warehouse efficiency and improvement activities.
  • Uses and promotes 5S, Rockwell Operating System (ROS) and Lean Manufacturing concepts to drive continuous improvement.
  • Leads the warehouse in daily operations and continuous improvements which include but are not limited to supply chain production control, establishing priorities, coordination of activities with off-shift management, order shipments, and supporting the production lines.
  • Creates the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work/processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and the area is compliant with safety requirements.
  • Maintains appropriate command of a room and acts/communicates with clarity and forthrightness, open to innovation and change, and proactively partners with key stakeholders.

Leadership

  • Facilitate warehousing teams toward the achievement of business and customer objectives.
  • Coach and train teams in the philosophy of continuous improvement and waste reduction concepts.
  • Foster an environment that instills pride and ownership by all employees.
  • Evaluate employee performance on a continual basis and provide continuous performance feedback.
  • Develop a motivated employee base through rewards and recognition linked to accomplishments.
  • Provide leadership in the support of best practices and compliance to procedures and specifications.

The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in production & operations, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, inventory, or related discipline
  • 2+ years of supervision/management experience in a warehouse operation, materials management, production or manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment supporting multiple shifts
  • Experience leading and managing an hourly/production workforce
  • Varied experience in production operations and manufacturing facilities, including responsibility for multiple functional areas within operations
  • Advanced understanding of SAP and Excel
