Department OverviewManufacturing Engineering.Job Description

Motorola Solutions is looking for a highly motivated Manager to lead its world-class technical operations and quality teams at its Manufacturing facility located in Elgin, Illinois.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of the maintenance and technical operation departments, facilitating efficient manufacturing operations across the organization

  • Drive daily improvements to key quality indicators.

  • Ensure compliance with quality, regulations, and guidelines, including ISO, UL, requirements.

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.

  • Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; make and implement recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.

  • Prepare and implement the departmental budget

  • Navigating the challenges of a changing industry.

  • Maintaining a level of production and quality standards.

  • Collaborating with various leaders within the organization to deliver excellent service daily to all of our customers.

  • Making the best decision that will be in the best interest of the business at large.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business-savvy leader with great communication skills

  • Eight years of Manufacturing experience

  • Four years of Management and Automation experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects

  • Ability to improve Automation processes

  • Planning and coordination skills

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Cross-functional training and development

  • Preparing training materials for new hires

  • Engage team members and cultivate the environment

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and customers

  • Ability to present to executive leadership

  • Manage inventory and perform audits

  • Reduce errors and improve quality

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred

Basic Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management

  • Four years of Management experience within a Manufacturing Plant environment required.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
