Job Description

The Freight Audit and Claims Analyst reports to the Logistics Systems & Analytics Manager and will be responsible for freight audit and payment, reviewing invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payment. This role will also be responsible for understanding and monitoring all pricing characteristics for domestic and international modes of transportation (LTL, FTL, parcel, intermodal, import LCL, import FCL, export LCL, and export FCL). This role will additionally be the main point of contact for supporting our carrier relationships.

This position will be based at Zurn Elkay's corporate headquarters, which is based in Milwaukee, WI.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review current freight vendors and potential new vendors to ensure they meet our requirements.

  • Audit carriers' freight bills to ensure they are accurately billing.

  • Coordinates with Accounting and 3rd party Freight Payment company to review and address carrier aging statements.

  • File freight claims direct with carriers.

  • Support carrier relationships including: Onboarding, score cards, QBR's, and other carrier related responsibilities.

  • Administrative maintenance within the TMS (this will be password resets, user creation, carrier setup, etc).

  • Maintain an understanding of accounting procedures and financial conditions.

  • Ensure all administrative requirements are completed in a timely manner.

  • Negotiate/coordinate costs associated, and post changes as needed.

  • Process non-compliant freight bills while working in conjunction with accounts payable.

  • File freight claims utilizing 3rd party freight claims management software.

  • Investigate each claim by gathering information, conducting interviews and research, reviewing reports and related bills.

  • Complete freight claim paperwork with transportation provider, paper or electronic.

  • Ensure timely and effective claims resolution.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of education.

  • 2+ years' experience in relevant Supply Chain or Logistics role

  • Ability to review contracts and verify terms and conditions

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Task oriented, problem solver, and multi-tasker

  • Ability to follow standard operation procedures with little to no oversight

  • Enjoy working in a team environment but follow through on own deliverables on a daily basis

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic Math and Accounting skill.
