Wireless Operations Intern

Boingo Wireless is constantly developing new products and services for use with our worldwide network of wireless solutions. We are looking for an intern with an interest in engineering, field operations and project management of Wi-Fi, Private Networks and Distributed Antenna Systems in sports arenas, airports, military bases and campus-type venues. The Wireless Business Operations intern will assist our cross functional team with the complete life-cycle, launch and change management of network build-outs, products, and partner requirements.

This is a hybrid position requiring on site time in our Rockefeller Center office. This role may also require travel throughout the greater NYC area, including Newark Airport. You may be required to partner with a technician offering network support, which will occasionally require availability on a 24x7 basis to cover urgent break-fix and / or troubleshooting situations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and design management of wireless networks in airports, tunnels, stadiums, arenas, campuses, and other large venues managed by Boingo Wireless - including Neutral Host DAS, CDMA, GSM, UMTS, and LTE systems.
  • Support and partner with Account, Project, Program and Construction Managers with the constructio , integration and testing of in-building wireless networks.
  • Ensure documentation and monitoring of the networks are completed to internal, project-specific, and wireless Carrier standards.
  • Help with the coordination and delivery of contract and costing processes and to support different departments coming together to make a sale.
  • Work on assigned venue in coordination with NY project managers.
  • Assist in developing and managing project status documentation and communications.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings to include internal and/or external folks on a weekly basis.
  • Pitch in on various projects as needed

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor or Masters of Science in engineering related field.
  • Ability to learn computer based design and workflow software
  • Capable of discussing and writing about technical subjects with diverse audiences.
  • Must be capable of passing a 10-year TSA/FBI background check (for airport security badging purposes).
  • Ability to sort and resolve complex technical problems
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to be a team player and/or work independently
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive
