Children's Wisconsin has an opening for a 7/70 Night Pharmacist on their team!

Hours:7/70 Nightposition that starts on a Wednesday night and goes each night for 7 in a row until the following Tuesday night. 9pm-7:30am

Location:Children's Hospital Wisconsin, 8915 W Connell Ct, Milwaukee, WI 53226

What you will do:

Provides comprehensive pharmacy services. Reviews medication orders and, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team, coordinates high-quality pharmaceutical services for patients. Performs distributive functions including compounding and dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established policies and procedures as prescribed by hospital physicians or other qualified prescribers. Coordinates and closely reviews activities of pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth and efficient operations in accordance with federal and state regulations and hospital policies and procedures. There are two pharmacists on nights. One pharmacist works out of the pediatric ICU and covers all critical care areas. The other pharmacist works out of the central pharmacy and provides clinical services to all other areas of the hospital including the Emergency Department Trauma Center.

What you will need:

  • Knowledge of medications including the related laws and pharmaceutical storage/distribution requirements at a level normally acquired through completion of a Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and completion of all required internship hours.

  • Current Wisconsin State Pharmacist license necessary. If not licensed in Wisconsin, must obtain licensure within three months from start date as pharmacist.

  • Competent in sterile and non-sterile compounding.

  • Analytical ability to troubleshoot and investigate pharmaceutical problems with providers.

  • Interpersonal skills to work with a variety of technical and professional staff.

  • Ability to walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time while performing duties.

  • Ability to differentiate colors and visually inspect and confirm pharmacy technicians' medication preparations
