Position Overview

The IDF Site Superintendent position is a critical role within the Waste Operations at the Integrated Disposal Facility (IDF) on the Hanford Reservation outside of Richland, WA. This position is responsible for the overall management of the landfill operation, maintenance of the equipment, and maintenance of the Facility. This position is a direct report to the Project Manager.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Overall responsibility for the safe and compliant operation of the landfill, maintenance of the equipment, and maintenance of the Facility. This includes but not limited to, the site roads maintenance, dust control, dumping operations, place and cover operations special handled waste operations, Leachate system operation/maintenance, crane and rigging evolutions, tumble weed removal, snow removal precipitation removal and other activities necessary to manage the facility in accordance with the contract.
  • Ensures the effective implementation of regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and disciplined manner, reflecting a strong conduct of operations discipline and ISMS culture with personal accountability.
  • Act as an integral part of communications systems, providing an upward and downward link for the timely transfer of information.
  • Manage resources and work planning through the performance of Plan of the Days and Plan of the Weeks.
  • Must be skilled at resolving technical and personnel issues using company and personal resources.
  • Anticipates consequences of actions and articulately describe potential outcomes. Influences and facilitates affective problem resolution techniques of issues/concerns.
  • Manages assigned Corrective Actions.
  • Coordinates and interfaces with the contractor and support organizations.
  • Managing direct reports.
  • Provide direct, complete feedback to others to prevent negative re-occurrences and provide personnel development for staff.

Qualifications include:

  • 10 years General Construction or Operations.
  • 5 years Supervisory Level which includes labor management associated with bargaining units.
  • 5 years of supervising work involving radiological contaminated materials or hazardous materials handling experience.
  • 5 years landfill/backfill/excavation operations experience.
  • 3 years DOE site experience.
  • 3 years equipment operation and maintenance experience.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in the use of project/construction management concepts to manage, schedule, scope, deliverables, and related metrics.

Education

  • BA/BS in a technical discipline, plus 10 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • CTI is a Drug-Free Workplace - Must pass pre-hire drug screen.
  • Must possess valid driver's license.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds without assistance using appropriate safety and lifting methods.
  • Ability to work in harsh outdoor environments, including snow, rain, ice, and muddy conditions.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

This is a position requires the ability to work outdoors in an industrial environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Compensation:

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Base pay is just one component of CTI's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $135,000 - $145,000 salary per year.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skillset, experience, and/or performance. Please talk to a CTI recruiter to learn more.
