Job Description

Bath Iron Works is seeking and individual to lead a number of electrical facility upgrades. Our projects adhere to some simple guiding principles of providing a Safe, Reliable, Well Kept Facility to support the world class shipbuilders we employ. Consistent with this the selected individual would work with Facilities Leadership and Customers to develop executable designs and plans that support the future needs of the ship yard in maintaining the Bath Built is Best Built legacy.

The successful candidate will see projects from concept to completion to support updating our infrastructure. This will include organizing your internal team as well as the contractors and engineers that will help make this a success. With the support of our Financial Group cost and schedule will be part of your focus insuring the best possible outcome in achieving a deliverable that meets or exceeds the Project Charter.

Knowledge with electrical distribution will be essential in supporting the twenty+ electrical substations that dot both our Bath and Brunswick operations. The candidate should also be familiar with systems that range in voltages from 34.5KV down to 480V. Daily activities will include working with craft, superintendents and supervisors to insure the safe execution of high-quality work. Here at Bath Iron Works safety is of the utmost importance and support continued education to insure we all understand the rules and regulations that guide our industry and the work we perform.



Required/Preferred Education/Training

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
- An understanding of the principles and practices of managing large integrated projects.
- Understand the principles of design and construction of capital projects.
- Competent with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.

    Course complete in OSHA 30 a +
  • Current NEC completion a +
Required/Preferred Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Major Industrial Site projects
- 5+ years PM experience, with 5 years of major ($10M+) project experience at an industrial site
- Project Management Professional Certification a +

  • Electrical Licenses or Certifications a +

Competencies:
- Problem Solving: Ability to address problems that are highly varied, complex, and often non-recurring, requiring various inputs, innovative, creative, and Lean diagnostic techniques to resolve issues.
- Independence of Action: Ability to set goals and determines how to accomplish defined results with some guidelines. Manager/Director provides broad guidance and overall direction.
- Written Communications: Ability to summarize and communicate moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers.
- Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information to internal and external customers.
