Maintenance Mechanic
2nd shift, 3pm-1:30am, Monday-Thursday, possible OT
$23-$30/hr BOE


Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Install, assemble, and test new machines and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.
  2. Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises, and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
  3. Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells, or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
  4. Perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
  5. Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric, and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
  6. Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
  7. Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service and testing of machinery.
  8. Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification, or installation of machinery.
  9. Work effectively with other team members in a loud environment.
  10. Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing various machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanic (not electronic) principles.
  11. Acquiring and retaining knowledge of basic and routine maintenance and repair procedures.
  12. To communicate effectively (written and verbally) with team member and operations team at all levels.
  13. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  14. Replacing defective parts of machine or adjusting clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  15. Repairing and lubricating machines and equipment.
  16. Maintaining appropriate service and repair records using the CMMS system
  17. All other duties as assigned

Behavioral Requirements - Personal Skills and Competencies:
  1. Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience
  2. Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended amount of time
  3. Act competently in emergencies
  4. Organized and detail-oriented
  5. Ability to follow all safety guidelines for all, hand tools, power tools, processing, packaging, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment.
  6. Ability to read and understand mechanical schematics
  7. Ability to use Microsoft applications, Excel, Word, etc.
  8. Ability to be proficient using CMMS system
  9. Ability to work successfully with all maintenance, and operations personnel.
  10. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment.
  11. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and components
