The Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC, or the Coalition) is a global partnership of more than 500 public, private, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to ensuring that all people in low- and middle-income countries can choose, obtain, and use affordable, high-quality supplies and related services to ensure their better reproductive health. Our Secretariat is staffed and hosted by PATH, an international, nonprofit organization that helps communities around the world break longstanding cycles of poor health.

The RHSC is seeking a Head of Outreach, VANto support the .The VAN supports cost-effective delivery of family planning products to developing countries by fostering coordinated supply and planning decisions based on shared visibility into a common set of data. TheHead of Outreach, VANwill lead efforts to scale-up VAN membership through different onboarding, communication and policy strategies that emphasize the value of data for decision-making across different user groups. They will be responsible for ensuring that potential members (developing countries, manufacturers, global procurers, etc.) have all they need to understand the membership models, the value of membership, and the steps to becoming a member.They will develop and manage membership and knowledge content and will lead the growth of a range of cross-organizational strategies to engage and bring more members into the VAN. Reporting to the Director of the VAN, they will work closely with all the VAN Management Unit members, the VAN Steering Committee, PATH's legal counsel, and other VAN implementing partners.

This position will engage in domestic and international travel, estimated at 15-30%.

Responsibilities:

Lead the growth and management of cross-organizational member onboarding strategies, including through the VAN Ambassador Program and the VAN Analysts

  • Define a growth strategy for the VAN Ambassador Program, building off its current success with 12 VAN Ambassadors, and further defining its purpose, scope, approach, and success metrics
  • Expand the organizational structure of the VAN Ambassador Program, which includes defining participant type, role descriptions and levels of effort, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Recruit participants into the VAN Ambassador Program and engage them in regular activities to expand their knowledge of the VAN, promote cross-country learning, and prepare them for inter-organization and external advocacy opportunities
  • Develop and roll-out an approach to systematically train, coach and mentor VAN analysts to actively engage with prospective members at the country-level and to use membership and knowledge content to carry-out advocacy meetings
  • Mentor and coach members of the VAN Ambassador Program, the VAN Management Unit, Steering Committee, VAN analysts, and other stakeholders to act as global VAN champions

Develop and manage membership and knowledge content for promoting the VAN to prospective members

  • Develop and update membership materials and general VAN communications materials, including on the VAN and RHSC websites, in partnership with RHSC's Communications Team
  • Manage the content on the VAN's main existing knowledge management technology structure (VAN Information Portal)
  • In partnership with the Data & Technology team, oversee maintenance and use of knowledge management technology structures, including regularly reassessing the user-friendliness of existing structures and gathering user requirements for enhancements

Manage policy and legal strategy related to membership

  • Work with VAN leadership to regularly review and update the VAN sustainability and membership model, including business case elements, communication materials and messages relating to the model and costs
  • Manage the Data Sharing Task Force and facilitate its regular meetings
  • Oversee Terms of Use update strategies and alignment with the membership model and member concerns, working with the VAN Director and PATH Legal Counsel
  • Act as liaison between the VAN and Legal Counsel

Support day-to-day program management of membership and policy

  • Manage the VAN Steering Committee, in partnership with VAN leadership
  • Support workplan tracking and reporting on expected deliverables
  • Support new business development and proposal writing
  • Participate in other taskforces and workstreams as required to support scale-up and the improvement of operational processes
  • Organize and lead special projects as needed for the VAN

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional setting, working to scale-up innovations for improved health outcomes, and ideally leveraging data and/or communications to inspire action. Experience with data for decision-making, health systems strengthening and commodity security a plus.
  • Degree or work experience equivalent in public health or international affairs/development required.
  • 5+ years of experience working with developing countries, including experience living and working in a developing country
  • Demonstrable success in securing stakeholder consensus around complicated and contentious technical issues
  • Genuine interest of and experience in the intersection between data, technology and decision-making demonstrated through academic background, hands-on experience or adjacent work in design, business, operations, policy, product, or project management.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, with strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • A team player with attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication ability; including a track record of communicating complex processes in a clear and concise manner
  • Enjoy working with clients and have a customer-centric attitude
  • Able to thrive in ambiguity and understand how to work through complex problems one step at a time.
  • Able to engage in up to 30% domestic and international travel, including to developing countries, with an understanding that travel may be less
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

We offer our employees a competitive salary and generous benefits. For candidates based in the U.S., the annual salary range for this position is $128,000 - 171,000. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors.
