Job Description:


This logistics Technician position is responsible for all aspects of loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. Our loading process requires high attention to detail, high accuracy and requires daily paperwork and computer processing (SAP). The position is responsible for loading and complying with all shipping/receiving documentation. Technicians work from checklists and work instructions to accurately fulfill loads and unloads while also using computer-based programs such as excel and SAP. Loads are both bulk and packaged goods. Technicians will operate forklifts and manual or automated bulk systems utilizing pumps, valves, and instrumentation via our digital control system (DeltaV). Logistics technicians will also operate blending systems to create material prior to shipping. Position requires working in a wide variety of weather conditions and hours, shift duration depends on workload and may vary daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading packaged goods and bulk liquid materials
  • Operate DeltaV (DCS) to blend materials and load/unload bulk materials
  • Perform quality checks for both inbound and outbound shipments via checklists and work instructions
  • Perform computer inputs to document and maintain inventory via Excel and SAP
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and make adjustments in SAP
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues such as valves, pumps, hoses, instrumentation, etc.
  • Maintain area GMP and housekeeping
  • Actively participate in department team meetings
  • Drive consensus-based decision making
  • Identify and update work instructions
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization
  • Model appropriate behaviors for Safety, Health, & the Environment, Ethics, and Respect for People

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions, problem solve, and troubleshoot
  • Ability to follow safety and environmental regulations
  • Ability to climbs stairs/ladders and able to work above floor surfaces (heights)
  • Willing and able to do moderate to heavy lifting (Up to 55 lbs.)
  • Willing and able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

The following are preferred:

  • An Associate's degree or higher in a scientific or technical field
  • 1+ year of experience in a logistical, manufacturing, scheduling, or related role
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
  • Experience with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
