JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for training, directing, and developing all warehouse personnel to ensure accurate, on time and damage free movement of product into and out of the DTC operation, in the most cost-effective manner. This is a working Senior Lead position and requires performing the essential functions of the warehouse staff as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop, implement, and administer policies, procedures, and controls to ship products in an accurate, timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Train, develop, evaluate, and coach DTC warehouse personnel. This includes planning, scheduling personnel, scheduling break and lunch periods, monitoring employee workloads, documenting employee performance, and conducting performance reviews to fit operational needs. Also includes enforcing and abiding by Company policies and procedures. Will work with the HR Department with any employee relations concerns.
  • Direct, assign and monitor work of warehouse personnel in the DTC area to ensure orders are shipped to our customers within the agreed upon timeframe.
  • Ensure timesheets for hourly personnel are accurate and complete prior to payroll processing.
  • Utilize labor and warehouse equipment for maximum order accuracy and productivity in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Communicate with management and other departments daily to maintain effective warehouse operations.
  • Perform the duties of the Warehouse and Lead personnel within the DTC area, including picking orders, receiving, replenishment and loading to assist with the work requirements.
  • Audit orders prior to loading or delivery to ensure accuracy, completeness, and neatness of order.
  • Train Warehouse Associates on use of material handling equipment including initial training, quarterly training and as needed.
  • Promote a safe and efficient work environment for all employees.
  • Assist the Safety Committee which includes daily inspections, follow-up on any safety concerns, and ensuring the safety of all employees, guests, vendors, etc.
  • Responsible for daily management/supervision of quality systems and ensuring employees are following AIB and GDP requirements.

  • Provide feedback and change warehouse procedures as needed to achieve the greatest accuracy and efficiency possible.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe warehouse environment. This includes all aisles being swept daily, pallets are neatly stacked, and garbage is discarded.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Associate's degree in business, warehouse management, logistics or operations or four years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
  • 1-year previous leadership experience, including training, development, and evaluation of employees.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including previous experience working with UPS processing and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Excellent analytical and planning skills. Able to plan and be proactive to prevent time spent reacting to problems.
  • Must be familiar with, understand, abide by, and enforce all Company policies and procedures.
  • Able to safely operate and become certified in the operation of all warehouse equipment including forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to operate basic office equipment including telephones, copy machine, fax machine and computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and supervision skills to aid in the development, direction, delegation and discipline of staff. Must be understanding of people and their problems, diplomatic and have a sense of fairness and consistency.
  • Able to communicate effectively in both oral and written format. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Must be flexible to changing customer or operational demands and able to work overtime on short notice. Position requires working until the job is complete.
  • Must be an excellent problem-solver, organized and attentive to detail. Position requires an order selection accuracy of 97% or higher.
  • Able to perform the physical requirements of all warehouse positions.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
  • Experience in a fast-paced distribution environment and experience working with common carriers and UPS.
  • Previous forklift certification.
