Schedule Details:These are 10.5 hours shifts, four days a week with every third weekend and holiday staffing rotation (two holidays per year).

What You Will Do:

Technicians at the Tier 2 level perform basic and advanced pharmaceutical duties across all PHC campuses and work under the direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists. A Tier 2 technician needs to be proficient in those skills required of a Tier 1 technician in addition to having the ability to perform complex specialized pharmaceutical duties including preparation ofnonhazardous and hazardous intravenous admixtures and the operation of automated equipment in the clean room. They will provide accurate, independent work and have the ability to interact well with other healthcare personnel as part of the PHC team.All tier 2 technicians will demonstrate mastery of ordering and control of stock, selection of drug product, nonsterile drug preparation, controlled substance handling and pharmacy automated systems.Retail Tier 2 technicians will also show proficiency in inventory management, PA processing and any other site specific programs.

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age and High School Diploma or equivalent
  • State of Wisconsin registration
  • PTCB-recognized education/training program OR 500 hours of equivalent work experience to achieve required CPhT certification.
  • Completion of a six-month formal training program in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices - OR - six months of work experience in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices.
  • One year of work experience comparable to that gained at the Pharmacy Tier 1 level preferred.
