Job Description

Implements system requirements for customers. Reviews system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software. Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by customers or engineering. Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards. Works with engineering regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation as required. You will report to the Field Service Manager.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Assist order pursuit team reviewing customer specifications and Request for Proposal (RFP) documents
  • Learn to analyze customer's requirements to determine the optimal method and applicable installation techniques
  • Estimate installation engineering, drafting and installation services on-site efforts with manager guidance
  • Learn to Generate detailed Request for Quotation (RFQ) Packages in order to solicit contractor bids
  • Review Contractor bids, for accuracy, to verify they match the Scope of Work in the RFQ Package with senior team member
  • Create internal proposal and cost sheet that will become part of the main Rockwell proposal
  • Oversees 3rd party contractors, engineering firms and GEC drafting
  • Learn to generate an installation schedule in order to provide an overview of the installation activities during both the pre-outage and outage stages. Work with Project Manager to integrate into the overall project schedule
  • Write installation instructions and project reports as required
  • Participate in on-site audits of system with a more senior team member
  • Overall single point of contact for installation activities in support of the assigned Project Manager
  • Provide on-site installation support as required
  • Safety - Includes policing and management of all company and site-specific safety policies. Drive safety awareness across all trades of craft personnel, subcontractors, and others, insuring JSA's and safety meetings are in order
  • Review and visually verify all drawing and on-site work performed to ensure accuracy
  • Monitor and verify completed work for proper documentation and ensure accuracy vs. drawings and contract documentation
  • Update installation and system schematic drawings as part of on-site installation activities
  • Monitor completed work vs. planned work for reconciliation to schedule and tracking reports
  • Learn to maintain installation project financials and margins, up to $500K annually for turnkey projects; and up to $75K for engineering only orders

The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • 5+ years of related installation or job site experience
  • Willing to obtain professional certifications including BS in engineering and PMP
  • Willing to learn to process project information and where possible foresee/address potential issues as early as possible to minimize impact
  • Professional Engineer (PE) status is a plus but not a requirement
  • Understand contractual scope of supply and manage installation change orders, working with the project PM Installation Engineering
  • Develop the detailed installation drawing package to meet customers' requirements while complying with industry codes/standards and assure that personnel/machinery safety practices are followed
