Your role at Baxter:

Analyst II, Metrology is a Sr. Calibration Engineer responsible for the design and implementation of systems, equipment, and methods for calibration of measurement and test equipment, with emphasis on the calibration of sterilization equipment, electrical and temperature measuring standards. Performs Quality Engineering functions and provides technical support. Develops and owns calibration procedures. Supports the site environmental monitoring system.

What you will be doing:

  • Apply measurement science, mathematics, physics, and engineering to calibrate measurement and test equipment in various areas: electrical, mechanical, temperature, etc., based on analysis of measurement considerations, desired metrological characteristics and applicable authoritative standards.
  • Perform calibration, maintenance and repair of sterilization equipment, electrical and temperature standards.
  • Generate calibration test reports in an electronic calibration management system. Maintain and review calibration records.
  • Support operation and validated state for site environmental monitoring system.
  • Analyze and tackle calibration problems using mathematical and engineering knowledge.
  • Develop and support calibration specifications and standard procedures.
  • Complete technical tasks using innovative ways and integrating information from a variety of sources/fields.
  • Provide technical assistance on measurement issues.
  • Maintain compliance with calibration laboratory and quality systems.

What do you bring:

  • BS in Engineering, Physics, or other technical field and 5+ years of experience in measurement sciences.
  • Practicing knowledge of measurement science or equipment validation
  • Experience in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Proven knowledge of measurement science, equipment and systems, specifically those related to sterilization, thermometry, and electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Solid understanding of calibration quality systems and Metrology-related standards (ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540.3, etc.), industry standards (US CFR, ISO 13485), and reference standards documents as they apply to procedures and calibration requirements.
  • Ability to apply niche theoretical knowledge to a broad range of measurement problems.
  • Ability to estimate measurement uncertainty and perform statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of computerized system validation and monitoring of controlled environments.
  • Familiarity with Blue Mountain RAM and Siemens Desigo a plus.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $76,000 to $104,500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
