Position Description

Uses advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair all plant equipment, building and grounds. Performs a wide variety of skilled maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical systems, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, electrical systems, hydraulics systems for a variety of equipment.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Work with and support Operations to ensure molds are production ready by preparing and/or repairing molds
  2. Ability to operate lathes and vertical mills
  3. Perform mold preventive maintenance in coordination with production scheduling to minimize in-press failures and production run interruptions.
  4. Accurately use gauges, calipers, etc. to check molds, fixtures, and jig quality
  5. Properly log time in/operation time and time out for each job.
  6. Assist and communicate with key personnel regarding status of mold repairs
  7. Perform welding and polishing as needed
  8. Analyze and alter different types of tools for functional improvement and lengthening of tool life.
  9. Ability to diagnose equipment problems & take appropriate corrective action
  10. Enter Work orders into SAP
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
  • Capable of operating machinery (including welding equipment) to manufacture tooling used in die maintenance and repair.

  • Possess basic blueprint reading skills

  • Basic fabrication skills

  • Good teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Computer skills to include, but not limited to, proficiency with Windows based computer software

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
High School diploma
General Education Degree
Experience Requirements
  • 3 years of technical experience using mechanical, electrical and hydraulic skills
  • Minimum 1 year direct experience
  • Forklift experience
  • Experience with TIG Welding on H13 Tool Steel
Physical & Environmental Requirements
May be required to lift or carry engines, parts, and/or other materials of various sizes and weights. The supervisor will provide the essential physical requirements of each individual job.
Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
Ability to use power/vibrating tools over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
