Scope of Leadership Role:

This Senior Manager, Accounting role is an important member and leader of the Segment Accounting and Controlling team providing financial oversight, accounting guidance, and analytical support to the Power Efficiency Solutions (PES) segment. This role will manage a team of three individuals focused on leading accounting, analysis, and controls related to inventory, obsolescence, standard costing, manufacturing plant support, sourcing, and new product execution.

This role will also help identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, including establishing standardized processes and leveraging technology and tools to provide greater visibility on segment and business unit financial results as well as compliance with accounting controls and policies.

The Senior Manager, Accounting will report directly to the PES Global Controller and will serve as a key liaison and business partner with Segment and Division CFOs, Business Unit and Regional Finance Directors, Plant Controllers, Corporate Accounting and Compliance, FP&A, and PES cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Global Controller in providing comprehensive financial support to the PES global segment and business functions.
  • Leads month end close and manages reserve calculations, accruals, and reporting related to inventory, excess and obsolescence, LCNRV, freight, capital investments, and other areas as assigned.
  • Responsible for reviewing capitalized variance accounting related to material, freight, and tariff variances.
  • Reviews monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and proper recording of transactions.
  • Researches and explains performance variances and prepares quarterly segment analytics and commentary.
  • Works closely with manufacturing plants and supply management to help root cause and drive resolution to ad hoc inventory, costing, and margin questions.
  • Oversees standard costing of new parts, annual cost roll, and transfer pricing for specified intercompany partners, suppliers, and shared distribution centers.
  • Leads annual segment balance sheet audits and inventory audits at select U.S. consigned warehouse locations.
  • Proactively supports internal controls and compliance matters to ensure company processes, controls, and accounting policies are understood and followed.
  • Acts as a key business partner between Segment, Business Units, and Corporate Accounting team to drive communication around accounting items, explain trends in the business, help minimize surprises during month ends, and improve accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Coordinates and supports internal and external auditors with data requests during quarterly and annual audits.
  • Partners with IT and other functions to streamline current finance processes and create new processes for key business initiatives.
  • Supports enhancements to Oracle ERP system and implementation of OneStream financial reporting tool, including some testing and training.
  • Manages, develops, and provides appropriate coaching and support for PES segment accounting team.

Professional Experience / Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Finance business partner and in developing collaborative relationships across all levels and functions within a global organization. This leader must have the passion, energy, and intellectual curiosity necessary for a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required, CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant and progressive finance/accounting experience, 2+ years in manufacturing sector.
  • Must be familiar with General Ledger, Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Inventory accounting and business processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, and/or OneStream is a plus.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Has a mindset of continuous improvement and can embrace Regal Rexnord's 80/20 principles.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, be hands-on, investigate complex processes, and develop and execute innovative solutions to drive accurate results.
  • Leverages analytical skills to effectively organize and translate data into insights for decision making.
  • Able to tolerate ambiguity, adapt to new situations and changes in direction, and devise ways to overcome obstacles to achieve finance and business objectives.
  • Can manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and direct work to meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
  • Commitment to coaching and mentoring staff to enhance the proficiency, competencies, and long-term development of the team.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Grafton, Milwaukee, or Chicago area.
