Senior Project Manager
1st shift, 8am-5pm
$140,000/yr

Position Summary
Sr. Product Manager provides leadership and oversight in all aspects of sales/marketing and technical activities for transit product sales including rail and battery driven vehicles. The Sr. Product Manager will direct the activities of Regional Sales Managers and Sales Engineers/Inside Sales Representatives assigned to the business unit.

Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in a technical field (engineering) or business-sales/marketing
  • 5+ years management experience in technical sales including budgeting and supervisory experience
  • 5+ years of work experience in high voltage electrical equipment industry
  • Experience with contract proposal submission/bidding process with transit authorities or similar industry
  • Experience as a primary supplier to OEMs
  • PC computer literate in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM software
  • Ability to travel by car and air 50% to 60% including overnight travel
  • German or Spanish language ability helpful
Essential Job Functions
  • Identify, develop, and negotiate sales opportunities for aftermarket and OEM transit sales
  • Direct sales responsibilities for all OEM vehicle builders
  • Work closely with and be available to our lead company's Sales Management Team in Germany
  • Supervision of Regional Sales Managers, Sales Engineers and Inside Sales Reps
  • Acting as hiring manager for employees active in the Product Line
  • Set pricing to achieve margin and sales goals; perform contract and quote reviews
  • Provide technical/applications support for the product line
  • Travel to customer locations and to Germany or other Schunk locations to gather technical sales and marketing information or to attend sales, marketing, or strategy meetings
  • Coordinate customer requests with manufacturing's capabilities/capacities
  • Provide input to the Director of Sales and Marketing or President regarding sales goals/objectives, budgets, and strategies for the product line
  • Participation in Material Review Board(s) (MRB), Quality Circles, and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for the product line. Authorized to identify quality problems and to request corrective actions for nonconforming product or to prevent nonconformance recurrence
  • Responsible for finished goods inventory levels for the Product Line
