We are team of geotechnical, structural, civil, and water resources engineers that deliver heavy civil engineering projects focused on navigation, ecological and sustainable improvements for locks, flood risk reduction, river restoration, water control structures, coastal improvements, and earth retaining structures for clients nationally and globally. We are seeking motivated candidates that enjoy working in a team environment on challenging projects to join our Minneapolis office.

You are a Structural Engineer in Training (0-4 years' experience) holding a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis. Your responsibilities will include technical analysis, design, preparation of construction documents, reports, and cost estimates for structural, infrastructure, environmental, water resources, and energy projects.

Your task focus will be on structural engineering analysis and design for a wide range of concrete, steel, and other structural elements for engineering planning, analysis, and design projects. Familiarity with:

  • Drawings, specifications, and basic structural engineering software such as STAAD and MathCAD
  • Understanding of structural standards, construction observation, geotechnical, and soils engineering skills

Essential duties include:

  • Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
  • Problem-solving - capability to solve minor or complex problems using data, logic, judgement and problem-solving tools
  • Accountability and responsibility - self-starter with willingness to interact as a team player and take independent initiative to ensure tasks are completed
  • Work in collaboration with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD) in producing plans and specifications

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in either Civil Engineering, Master of Science degree in structural or geotechnical engineering is a plus
  • FE/EIT certification is required
  • 0 - 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Applied knowledge of structural engineering theory and principles
  • CAD and structural analysis software
  • Strong oral communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Familiarity with federal, including USACE engineering guides and standards, and state government guidelines, policies and procedures is a plus

Base Compensation: $55,600 - $71,500
