ATI is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer at our Cudahy, WI facility. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the troubleshooting and maintenance of all programmable and hardwired logic devices of industrial control equipment. A successful Electrical Engineer will provide engineering expertise and support for operations areas through new equipment design and/or existing equipment modification to optimize efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Summary

  • Prepare design layouts utilizing the principles of electrical engineering as applied to substations, power distribution, lighting, induction heating, individual machine power and control circuitry, communications systems, or any other electrical installation.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot challenges and routine problems on all electrical / automation considerations and appropriately provide solutions and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles and strategies to improve operating efficiency of equipment and to design and implement automation systems
  • Partner with engineers, designers, draftsmen and other cross-functional teams on matters involving requirements or performance of tools, machinery, equipment, buildings or facilities to ensure strong outputs, reliability and efficiencies
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership or participation on project teams in support of capital projects, process evaluation, project modifications and problem-solving activities
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation, reports, correspondence and job-working records while ensuring accuracy, mathematical computations, and functional correctness of designs.
  • Work from layouts, instructions, specifications or any other requirements.


Basic Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Controls Engineering.
    • In leu of an Associates degree, 5+ years of electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years' of Electrical Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Ladder Logic.
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC.
  • Practical experience with programming controllers.
  • Working knowledge of electrical principles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot motors, pumps, and electrical systems used in pneumatic and hydraulic applications.
  • Ability to determine root cause of a problem, establish corrective actions, and implement the actions, alone or as part of a team, to eliminate the problem.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to vendors, customers, and internal company staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and schedule work effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet schedule requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of Safety Regulations as related to electrical work.
