The CAD Technician II will work in collaboration with project design stakeholders, principally creating documentation deliverables that support business objectives. This position will support assigned initiatives from kickoff through successful implementation. They will partner with leaders and teams to drive program initiatives, facilitate best practices, and support successful achievement of project cost, financial, schedule and performance goals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create 2D part and assembly drawings, including tolerance stack up analysis, BOM's, ECO's, and other relevant design documentation.
  • Generate GD&T part drawings and assembly stack ups.
  • Perform DFM model changes and document updates during transfer to manufacturing.
  • Conduct FAI on initial tooled production parts.
  • Create medium to higher complexity test and tooling fixtures related to CAD design or concept.
  • Participate in product certification, risk analysis, evaluation, and testing efforts; ensuring quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Certification and Quality/Regulatory teams in population and maintenance of Engineering Document Control databases (MDR and DHF).
  • Track and manage work output for multiple simultaneous projects using Jira (or similar) management environment.
  • Identify and escalate issues/risks facing project teams and work with cross functional management teams to develop solutions to improve current emergent processes and roadblocks.
  • Continuously improve the process by making recommendations for change.
  • Maintain consistent messaging throughout including professional communication deliverables.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Associate's degree in a technical or other related field required, BS preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience creating Engineering documentation in the plastics or welded assembly industries working with electromechanical assemblies.
  • 3D Printing or other Rapid Prototype experience required.
  • Proven versatility as demonstrated by succession in responsibilities and willingness to scale abilities to complete objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Exceptional skills with Inventor and Solidworks (or similar) 3D and 2D base modules required. Creation of engineering documentation including assembly symbols (welding), BOM, and feature based dimensioning is a significant focus.
  • Ability to conduct GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis required.
  • Experience with Analytical (FEA), Mechanisms (moderate complexity), Manufacturing, or Rendering modules a significant plus.
  • Analytical Thinking - Effective at understanding a problem or situation and developing effective solutions.
  • Strategic Perspective - Needs to keep overall objectives and strategies in mind, and not be deflected by matters of detail.
  • Applying standards - Effective in the application of relevant industry and process standards to all tasks undertaken.
  • Industry Developments - Must take initiative to ensure skills and specializations are kept up to date in line with industry developments and ensure that all relevant skill sets are current.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
