The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat commission is seeking to fill a permanent, full-time Civil Engineer (General) position within the Bureau of Engineering. This position is responsible for performing a variety of engineering duties associated with location, and/or design, and/or construction of fish culture station and all related activities, roads, bridges, buildings, water or sewage treatment facilities, dams and access areas, recreational structures, facilities and other civil engineering projects.
Work involves independently performing preliminary engineering studies, conducting location investigations, preparing plans and specifications, applying for permits, developing material take-offs, cost estimates and related engineering duties. Emphasis is placed on the application of a knowledge and practices to varied and comprehensive engineering projects. Work requires contact with public agencies, consultants, or contractors to obtain compliance with Commonwealth standards and objectives. Supervision and technical guidance is received from a supervisor who assigns work and reviews completed work for engineering soundness, attainment of projects goals and deadlines, and cost effectiveness.Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (commonwealth title); or
- Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
- One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
