Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is a statewide, nonprofit association serving as a professional association whose members care for and educate Wisconsin's children, aged birth to eight. We are affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association works to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning for Wisconsin's young children by promoting excellence in early education programs, supporting professionalism in the early childhood workforce, and calling for greater investment in quality early child care. WECA's mission is to meet the professional needs of adults who nurture and teach Wisconsin's young children through a rich continuum of services.

The Wisconsin Early Education Shared Services Network (WEESSN) brings together family and center-based early care and education programs to pool resources and leverage economies of scale.

WECA is hiring a Spanish/English Bilingual WECA Technical Consultant in the Southeastern child care licensing region. This position will cover as needed the following counties: Waukesha, Milwaukee, Kenosha & Racine.

We are seeking skilled personnel to deliver responsive WECA services. This person will be responsible for supporting individuals who operate a child care program. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Sharing information and resources on licensing rules with potential applicants.
  2. Reviewing proposed policies and procedures of potential applicants.
  3. Conducting site visits to the location of the child care center.
  4. Discussing best business practices for operating a small business in the childcare industry.
  5. Offering technical assistance to applicants.

The successful candidate will contribute to demonstrable childcare program success.

Education & Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Early Childhood or related field or Associates degree with 3-5 years of administrative experience OR 5-7 years of related administrative experience in lieu of degree
  • Must have or be willing to acquire the Registry's Technical Assistance and Trainer Professional endorsement
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Able to communicate effectively, work independently, take initiative, problem solve, identify needs, and contribute to creative solutions
  • Bilingual (Hmong or Spanish) proficiency preferred
  • Candidate must have demonstrated ability to work with and understand culturally diverse populations.
  • Must clear a full background check, including fingerprinting.
  • This position involves travel; access to a vehicle and valid driver's license and insurance is required.

Salary range for this position is $52,000 to $54,000
