IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Structural Designer in our Dallas, TX office. As a Structural Designer you will be responsible for designing systems, calculations, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals, instructing BIM Technicians as required to assure project completeness and accuracy within time restraints and budget.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic marketing plans aligned with overall business goals and objectives;
  • Responsible for supervised design of simple structures using computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations;
  • Research catalogs and websites for commercially available equipment based on project needs and available technologies;
  • Verify the project meets scope and code requirements;
  • Maintain project design notebook and provide documentation for permanent record files;
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines whose services are requested;
  • Recognize potential project problems quickly and seeks advice of the Project Manager;
  • Calculate dimensional requirements, costs, and time schedules budgeted for personnel involved and coordinate work on the project;
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Responsible for supervised design of simple structures using computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations;
  • Research catalogs and websites for commercially available equipment based on project needs and available technologies;
  • Verify the project meets scope and code requirements;
  • Maintain project design notebook and provide documentation for permanent record files;
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines whose services are requested;

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Associate degree or certificate in CAD or Engineering Technology preferred;
  • 3 years of experience in related construction or document production fields.
