The Career and Technical Education office is actively recruiting up to 20 full-time (40 hours per week) positions to be filled as high school-based work-based learning specialists.
These positions will be limited term employment contracts, with renewable 6-month terms. This position will be located in an MPS high school that will follow the Early Start school calendar for the 2023-2024 school year. The position will start June 1, 2024 on a part-time basis, followed by full time work beginning with the first workday of the school year on Monday, September 2, 2024.
The purpose of this position is to increase the number of high school students participating in paid Internships and youth apprenticeships with local employers. The person hired will work collaboratively with the high school staff and students, and the central services Career and Technical Education (CTE) office, School-to-Work, and Contract Compliance to achieve this purpose The CTE office has an established, district-wide, work-based learning program. This position will support the centrally managed work-based learning program at the local high school level, and report to the manager of CTE.
