Under the direction of the Controller, the Senior Accountant provides support for financial functions including creating and posting journal entries, general ledger account reconciliation and analysis, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, fulfilling various external audit requests, and other financial reporting and analysis

Month-end Close Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in month-end closing process by accurately and timely preparing account analysis and related journal entries.
  • Demonstrate ownership of elevated accounting processes including but not limited to: Inventory, AR reserves, leases, deferred revenue amortization, and intercompany.
  • Reconcile various general ledger accounts and prepare related supporting schedules.
  • Investigate and document reconciling items.
  • Assist with analyzing financial statements and providing in-depth account level analysis on month over month and actual to forecast variances.
  • Document compliance with various Accounting-related SOX controls
Projects & Non-Close Duties:
  • Ownership and collaboration with Ops team to accurately calculate the monthly inventory reserve calculation.
  • Ownership and collaboration with the AR team to accurately calculate the monthly accounts receivable reserve calculation.
  • Ownership of special projects and account-level deep dives and driving them to the finish line.
  • Interdepartmental collaboration and financial support.
  • Assist with various internal and external audits.
  • Review and update written processes and procedure documentation.
  • Review and update written SOX controls and control documentation.
  • Focus on accuracy of work product with a drive towards continuous process improvement.
  • Assist Controller with moving Continuous Improvement projects forward.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimal Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance;

Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience;

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Displayed knowledge of elevated accounting acumen
Ability to consistently demonstrate written and verbal communication of analysis, trends, and accounting treatment to management
Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP and FASB
Goal-oriented and able to meet aggressive deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

License/Certifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/CMP Certification;

Work Experience:
Experience working in a service/distributorship environment

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Experience in FieldServio or similar ERP
Experience in OneStream or similar corporate consolidation software

LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE: Carries out managerial responsibility in accordance with Generac policies, guidelines, and applicable laws under the direction of the Controller. Work is subject to strategic guidance and evaluation from next level of management.

Compensation: Energy Systems is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
