Job Summary

The Technical Supervisor manages the engineering team which is responsible for sizing and troubleshooting products within the product line, designing customized products for unique customer applications, and providing engineering support to customer care. Ensures projects are completed on time.

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for leading application engineering team who focus on providing an expert level of product and application knowledge, creating value to the customer through unique, cost-effective solutions, and creating accurate, detailed literature for the product line.
  • Oversees and contributes to the design and development of products to fulfill the needs of internal and external customers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing project cost estimates.
  • Research and make recommendations for design enhancements or modifications to support cost reduction and quality improvements.
  • Collaborates with department Manager and Applications Engineering Manager to assist with custom products.
  • Provide product training to internal and external customers.
  • Work in partnership with interdepartmental leads to maintain project deadlines and funnel development.
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports and assists with the development and implementation of departmental budgets.
  • Drive productivity gains via process improvements, visual management techniques, system automation, etc.
  • Responsible for supervision of direct reports regarding project responsibilities, project commitments, performance evaluations and HR issues in collaboration with the department Manager.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Any other job duties as assigned; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical engineering design.

  • Minimum 2 years experience as supervisor, project manager, or engineering team lead.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Plastics Engineering required.

  • Proficient in AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suite
